Bio

Hello, my name is Dan Hutt, and I am a home recording enthusiast and performer of vocal harmonies-based, psychedelic-pop music. I also do a bit of writing in the cultural studies and fiction veins. In the daytime, I teach English and Spanish courses at a community college in Lincoln, NE, and I am a native of beautiful Tecumseh, NE, in the southeastern corner of the state.

My cultural tastes start with Brian Wilson/The Beach Boys/Van Dyke Parks and range through the Beatles, Salman Rushdie, Inara George, Marx, Trip Shakespeare/Semisonic/the Twilight Hours, the Zombies, the Left Banke, Edward Hopper, John Sayles, Flannery O'Connor, Bob Beadell, jr., The Jacks, The/Return, and many more.

You could say I am a student of the 60s, though I was only on the planet that decade for a little over ten months. I am also proud to have been a student of Drs. Les Whipp and Dean Hall.

I have two cats, Matt and Jules, whom I adore, and I love old records, books, magazines, filmstrips, and antiques. Spicy food and spy films too. The levers, dials, and knobs on vintage hi-fi equipment mesmerize me, and it is a happy day each month when I receive the next issue of Mojo.

At present, I spend about 4 days a year in Savannah, GA, and the other 361 missing it dearly.

Someday I hope to ride in a hot air balloon.

"The moment one definitely commits oneself, then Providence moves as well. All sorts of things occur to help one that would never otherwise have occurred. A stream of events issues from the decision, raising in one's favor all manner of unforeseen accidents, meetings and material assistance that no one could have dreamed would come their way. Whatever you can do or dream you can do, begin it. Boldness has genius, power and magic in it. Begin it now."
