"Jane Hansen, the Healer" [2:49]
I wrote and recorded this song in the summer of 2008 for a person who, over the period of a full year, really helped me out in countless ways. It is very loosely based on the Beach Boys' tune, "Anna Lee, the Healer," from the 1968 Friends album, which is appropriate, as Jane has stellar taste in music. You're the best, Jane!

"Robert the Baby Owl or Child-Bee with Detonator" [3:18]
This song is for the soon-to-be 3 yr. old son of some good friends of mine here in Tecumseh, NE, USA. I've directed him to call me Uncle Snuffleupagus, which he is of course unable to say at this stage, so he calls me "Snuff." Robert has keen taste in television, already being a fan of the British children's series Thomas the Tank Engine (originally narrated by Ringo Starr). I seem to be again in psychedelic nursery rhyme mode with this tune, written and produced in modular fashion. I've got the usual Smile and Sgt. Pepper imprints in place, but can you spot the Pet Sounds homage?
